The Receivers are a music group from Ontario comprised of Millie Shadgett, Fern Marwood, Willow Marwood, and Murray Shadgett. They play a variety of folk genres including Irish, Bluegrass, and Contemporary Trad. The Receivers were nominated in 2023 for a Canadian Folk Music award in Vancouver B.C for their first EP. Their most recent single entitled, “Highland Cow” was released in July of 2023.

The Receivers originally met at The Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival in Souris, PEI. Afterwards Fern and Willow Marwood were nominated for a CFMA seperatly from Millie Shadgett AKA Irish Millie. They met up again at the awards in Charlottetown PEI where they re-kindled their flame and chemistry, by deciding to form a band. The Receivers name came from the iconic Receivers Coffee shop in Charlotte Town where the group had breakfast during the ceremony. Ever since they have been traveling across Canada, to BC, and PEI. In March of 2023 the group toured in Vermont USA. Currently the group is writing new tunes and regularily performing at The Blackhorse Pub, Jethros, and other establishments.

OMM was released in 2022 and was nominated for a CFMA on The Receivers EP.

London Fog
Released in 2022 or their first EP, London Fog was inspired by the famous tea of the East Coast from the Receivers Coffee Shop.

Neptune
The receivers Willow Marwood wrote Neps Set which is now called Neptune.

The Lost Bag
Description goes after traveling to Vancouver BC the Receivers Millie Shadgett wrote a tune about how their bags were lost in YYZ.

Banjo Bug
Description goesBanjo Bug was composed by Fern Marwood, and writtenm in honor of the famous green banjo bugs at the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival.
